Ana Maria Ortega is the owner of Finca Los Angeles in Huehuetenango, Guatemala, as well as a producer Onyx has partnered with for many years. As a close neighbor of our Finca Vista Hermosa in the San Pedro Necta subregion, we've known each other's families for many decades. This feature story and interview captures Doña Ana Maria's remarkable perseverance and spirit, having overcome unimaginable challenges to produce coffees she loves in her homeland. It's as much her story as it is the story of Huehuetenango, of the grit and spirit of the Guatemalan people.
